Does anyone have suggestions for best programs for making DVD-Audio discs from the 24/96 files sold here? Thanks....
As you’re likely aware, there are not many consumer products with the ability to author DVD-Audio discs. Previously, I would have recommended DiscWelder by Minnetonka Audio Software, since it’s the only software I’ve used previously for this purpose. Unfortunately, DiscWelder is no longer available for sale from the developer. HD-Audio Solo Ultra by Cirlinca (Windows-only, http://www.cirlinca.com/products.htm) and Burn (Mac OS X-only, http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html) both appear to be able to burn DVD-Audio discs. There is also a cross-platform free software package called "DVD audio Tools” which can be used to generate a DVD-Audio .iso image. This image can then be burned using a typical DVD-burning application. DVD audio Tools can be found at http://dvd-audio.sourceforge.net/ – please be aware that there are some prerequisites to using this software, which are described at http://dvd-audio.sourceforge.net/howto.shtml.
That said, we would recommend playing the files as provided if possible, since many hardware devices capable of high-resolution playback can do so over USB or network connections.
